Mrs. Peters Bio
Melissa A. Peters is a native New Yorker and a product of the New York City Public Schools. As such, she has a passion for education and empowering students to reach their full potential. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in History at Concordia College with a minor in Law and communications. After working successfully for four years in Corporate America, Melissa entered the New York City Teaching Fellows with the hope of making an impact on future generations of New York City students. She went on to complete her Master’s degrees in General Education and Special Education at Brooklyn College. In the summer of 2018, she completed the Leaders in Education Apprenticeship Program (LEAP) with the City of New York which enabled her to obtain her School Building Leaders license. She is now in her eleventh year as an educator and she is extremely proud to be a part of the ASFE family.
