Ms. Cannon's Bio
Christina Cannon joins us with close to 15 years of experience with the New York City Department of Education. She has worked as a teacher, instructional coach, assistant principal, and most recently on a superintendent’s team. Throughout her career she has focused on the importance of teacher development and support from both the individual teacher and whole school perspective. As a teacher, she developed, shared and implemented strategies which helped in raising student achievement. As an assistant principal she has helped to develop and implement professional development based on teacher need identified through goal setting and observation data. Most recently, as a Director of School Renewal, she has supported school communities in developing, implementing, and monitoring action plans aimed at increasing student achievement. She has also developed and facilitated Principal Professional Learning Communities centered around district level priorities of rigorous instruction and assessment enabling Principals to look more deeply at a problem of practice. Christina holds a firm belief in collective efficacy and differentiated teacher development is instrumental in promoting excellence.
