Mr. Springer

Hello everyone! I'm super excited to be apart of the AFSE community! 

I am native son of Brooklyn, New York, and proud product of the New York City Public School System. I have dedicated my life to working with youth in education, starting as summer youth counselor at age 15, working several years in educational access programs and nearly a decade as a Secondary General Education Social Studies teacher. I currently teach Global History and Civics. 

When I'm not teaching I'm working as a mentor to pre-service teachers at Brooklyn College, which is also my alma mater. I am also working on my Mdiv degree at NYACK (ATS) college. In my off time, I do street and event photography and independent historical research on the Barbadian diaspora community in New York City and abroad. I am also a sports fanatic... LETS GO METS... LETS GO KNICKS... LETS GO NY GIANTS!!!
