Parent Coordinator Welcome Letter

Dear Parent and/or Guardian:

Welcome to the Academy for Software Engineering. My name is Ashley Cameron and I am the Parent Coordinator, who will be working closely with you to support your child through his/her high school experience. My goal is to ensure that you and your family feel welcome at AFSE and that your voice is heard. Your suggestions, recommendations, and ideas matter to us, and I will make sure that I bridge the communication between you and the school staff.

While your child’s teachers and advisors will stay in close contact with you concerning academics and discipline, I will also be communicating with you regularly to provide important information about school activities and events. Additionally, my expectations for this year are to cover topics of interest that concern you as a parent/guardian and for the school to address them. Lastly, we want you to be involved in your child’s education; therefore, we will provide you with opportunities to participate in school functions throughout the year.

In order to maintain clear and frequent communication with you, please make sure you complete and return the Blue Emergency Card provided to your child. Accurate mailing address, email, and phone numbers are very important and will be used to stay in contact with you. We send a large amount of communication via email. If there are any changes to your contact information during the year, please contact me immediately.

Again, I am here to support you and your family during your child’s high school career. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at [email protected] or at (212) 253-3294.

I look forward to meeting with all of you soon and making this school year as productive and successful as possible.

Sincerely,

Ashley Cameron
