Ms. Bute Bio
Anna Bute is has always loved science and found a love of the ocean during high school. As a proud Nebraskan, she didn’t get to see the ocean much so she decided to head to the coast for her post-secondary education. She started school at Clemson University where she studied Chemistry and then transferred in her Sophomore year to the University of Washington – Seattle where she earned her B.S. in Aquatics and Fisheries Science. During college, she had the opportunity to study oceanography and water quality in Kosrae, Micronesia and sail around New Zealand looking at plastic pollution. After college she moved to New York where she earned her Masters in Teaching from Relay Graduate School of Education. The past summer she was selected to be a fellow for Columbia University Summer Research Program for Teachers and she got to work in the Musculoskeletal Biomechanics Laboratory researching cartilage growth.
