Teacher Bio

Marlon Jansen immigrated to NYC as a pre-teen and grew up in Queens. He is a proud graduate of the NYC public school system and The City University of New York (CUNY). He is the first member of his family to graduate from college and is currently pursuing his Masters in Education at Hunter College. Marlon is a former Urban Teacher Resident with a background in biomedical research. Before joining AFSE he was an Adjunct Professor in Biology at Hunter College of The City University of New York, where he researched neurodegenerative disorders of the brain. Marlon has more than 12 years of experience teaching at the college level, and he currently teaches AP Biology and Human Anatomy and Physiology to students at AFSE. An avid fan of American football, European soccer, British television, and Japanese Anime, Marlon is also an excellent cook. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology and a minor in Chemistry from Hunter College, CUNY.
