Ms. Ross Bio

Ms. Ross currently teaches Common Core Geometry and AP Calculus at AFSE. This is her 6th year teaching at AFSE! Ms. Ross completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Florida (Go Gators!) and was a member of their nationally ranked Synchronized Swimming team. Afterwards she immediately began studying at Teachers College at Columbia University where she received her Masters in Art in Secondary Mathematics Education. She began her teaching career in St. Augustine Florida at Pedro Menendez High School where she taught Geometry and. coached their high school swim team. However, she missed the busy city life and decided to return to New York. She continued to teach and coach at her Alma Mater, Susan Wagner High School in Staten Island. In 2014, Jaime received a four-year Early Career fellowship from Math for America and joined the Academy for Software Engineering the following year. She is currently a recipient of the 2018 Master Teacher Fellowship from Math for America. In her free time, Ms. Ross loves to run. She has recently ran both the 2018 and 2019 NYC Marathons!
