What is PRHYLI?
The Puerto Rican/Hispanic Youth Leadership Institute (PR/HYLI) is a program with over 30 years of history, dedicated to supporting and empowering Latino students, particularly English Language Learners in New York City Public Schools. The NYC Delegation offers a free Saturday program that creates a lively and welcoming place to learn, celebrate and elevate Latino culture and pride. The program encourages active youth participation in civic and educational processes, with a focus on increasing the number of students earning the Seal of Biliteracy and gaining public speaking opportunities. PR/HYLI is committed to advancing social justice, enhancing college and career readiness, and strengthening Latino representation in political and educational areas.
