Mr. A's Bio

Mr. A began his career in education after working in film, television, and digital media production. He earned his BFA in Playwriting from The Theatre School at DePaul University and later transitioned into education through youth media programs and teaching artist roles across New York City. He is currently a New York City Public Schools educator and a participant in the NYC Teaching Fellows program.

Mr. A teaches U.S. History and Economics in an Integrated Co-Teaching (ICT) setting, where he works closely with students with disabilities to support skill development, critical thinking, and academic confidence. Prior to joining AFSE, he taught digital media and film to K–12 students and served in program coordination and curriculum design roles focused on student voice and creative expression.

His pedagogical interests include inclusive instruction, media literacy, and connecting historical content to students’ lived experiences. Mr. A believes strongly in using real-world examples, storytelling, and interdisciplinary approaches to make learning meaningful and accessible. Outside of the classroom, he enjoys sports, fitness, and exploring the intersections of history, culture, and media.
