Mr. Cho's Bio

Born and raised in Queens, Mr. Cho is a native New Yorker and the proud son of Korean immigrant parents. He attended Stuyvesant High School, where he was a dual-sport PSAL student-athlete in handball and bowling, serving as the bowling team captain. He went on to earn a B.A. in Mathematics from Binghamton University and an M.S. in Statistics from Baruch College.

Before transitioning into education, Mr. Cho spent over a decade in the private sector working as an actuary at an actuarial consulting firm and as a data scientist in the AdTech industry. He joined the Academy for Software Engineering (AFSE) team in 2025, where he teaches Pre-Calculus and Personal Finance while pursuing a Master’s in Math Education at Pace University.

Outside the classroom, Mr. Cho enjoys photography, assisting with the Content Creators Club, and joining students in sporting clubs whenever he gets the chance. A lifelong New York sports fan, he stays loyal through thick and thin rooting for the Mets and Knicks.
