Ms. Isaac's Biography

 

Jarielle Isaac is a New York City educator dedicated to equity, access, and helping every student feel seen, capable, and valued in the classroom. Raised in Miami and New York City, she brings a deep understanding of diverse student communities into her work. Ms. Isaac earned her undergraduate degree from Barnard College, Columbia University, and entered the profession through the NYC Teaching Fellows program. She is currently completing her Master’s degree in Special Education and Secondary Education at Fordham University’s Graduate School of Education.

 

Ms. Isaac currently teaches at the Academy for Software Engineering (AFSE) and previously served students at Brownsville Collaborative Middle School. Her philosophy of education is rooted in Black Critical Disability Studies (BCDS) and a growth mindset, centering student identity, resilience, and the belief that all learners can grow with the right support. She designs IEP (Individualized Education Program)–aligned, culturally responsive, and real-world learning experiences that provide meaningful access to rigorous content while honoring students’ strengths. She also supports Black Student Union (BSU) programming, helping create spaces where students feel affirmed, empowered, and heard.
