Ms. Kallus Bio
Jennifer Kallus began her educator career as a high school intern for the education department of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. She grew up in New York City, just a few blocks from AFSE. She attended Stuyvesant High School, Vassar College for undergrad, where she was a Studio Art major. After college, Ms. Kallus had her first experience in the classroom as an English language assistant, teaching English at two different elementary schools in a suburb of Paris, France. A few years after returning home, Ms. Kallus decided to pursue a career as an Art Teacher. She earned her masters degree from the Rhode Island School of Design and began teaching in 2011 at an independent elementary school in Manhattan. She spent three years teaching early childhood Art at a charter school in Washington, DC before moving back home to NYC. Ms. Kallus began teaching for the DOE back in 2016. She taught at Millennium High School for 9 years. This is Ms. Kallus’ first year teaching Art at AFSE. She is passionate about her subject and believes Art is for everyone.
