Ms. Thelen's Bio
Christine Thelen has served as ENL Teacher of AFSE since 2014 but has been teaching ESL since 2003.
Ms. Thelen began her career in education as an ESL teacher in Mexico, working with both young students and business professionals to help them enhance their English language skills. She then worked for eight years as Senior ESL Instructor for ELS Language Centers at Adelphi University. Following this, she was accepted to the Teaching Fellows and began teaching in the public school setting, first at an elementary school in the Bronx before moving on to AFSE in 2014.
Ms. Thelen is a native New Yorker. She holds a BA in English from the University of Rhode Island and an MS in TESOL from City College.
