Our sophomore class visited the Museum of Jewish Heritage to see the "Auschwitz. Not long ago. Not far away." exhibit on Friday, May 24th. For the first time, 74 years after the liberation of Auschwitz, a traveling exhibition dedicated to the historical significance of the camp is being presented to a U.S. audience. The exhibition features 700 original artifacts and 400 photographs. Our students also met with a Holocaust survivor to hear stories of heart, faith and survival. Our students have been learning about human rights violations and incidents of genocide throughout history, so we hope this exhibit will teach our students to be upstanders and not to repeat these atrocities in the future.
