Explanation of JumpRope Codes & Designations
Please note that our attendance have been updated to reflect the following:
P (Present): Student was on time to class and was present for the majority of the class period.
T (Tardy): Student was present and in class for the majority of the period but late to class.
E (Excused): Confirmation received of an extenuating circumstance to explain why the student was not present in class.
M (Missing): Student attended the class period but was out of the classroom for more than half of the period.
C (Cutting): Student was in a previous class period but did not attend for the duration of a subsequent period during the school day.
Please see below the following academic codes and designations used to record student academic performance that are reflections of our practices related to Competency Based Learning to promote and assess the acquisition of high leverage academic skills to prepare students for postsecondary success aligned to our Mission & Vision:

Competencies: Competencies are overarching and high level academic skills that are assessed on a scale of 1 - 4 on established rubrics for each course: Novice (1), Apprentice (2), Practitioner (3), Professional (4)Summative Assessment: Any assessment that encompasses multiple competencies to demonstrate outcomes of student learning as an outcome of a project or unit. A summative is weighted twice the weight of a formative (2.0).Formative Assessment: Any assessment that provides opportunity for students to receive feedback in preparation of a summative assessment in order to develop one or more competencies. A formative assessment is weighted half of a summative (1.0).Missing (M): The missing code applies to any summative for which a student did not submit the required coursework. The M code is assigned a value of .5.Insufficient (I): The work submitted for a formative assessment is insufficient to quality for a score of 1 or greater (ie, not turned in or insufficient quality).
