Bio: Ha-Saun Ra-Leik Munson

Ha-Saun R. Munson has been a Paraprofessional with AFSE for 3 years and has been a Sub-Paraprofessional with the DOE since 2015. He is currently enrolled at New City Technical College in Brooklyn NY preparing for a career in education.

 

Growing up in Columbia, SC, and Yonkers, NY Ha-Saun has had an interest in Art, Architecture, Bible Education, and Public Speaking. Previously he attended New City Technical College majoring in Architecture. For several years after that, he worked for leading NYC interior architecture and civil engineer firms specializing in CADD and Space Planning. In more recent years he has managed groups of interior designers as a volunteer for LDC (Local Design Committee) helping to design functional and aesthetically pleasing places of worship.

 

For the past 15 years, he has led efforts to organize public volunteer service that put him in contact with people in underserved communities. He enjoys public speaking, languages, and culture. He has learned French and greetings in Haitian Creole as well as in other indigenous West African languages which helps him to make close connections with those in the West African immigrant community. Ha-Saun’s travels have helped him to develop his worldview. He has had the opportunity to visit Spain, Brazil, Morocco, France, Switzerland, Gabon, South Africa, Thailand, and several other countries. He has also been involved in bible education volunteer work in West Africa.
